as i traversed the busy
streets of makati city
i looked around and saw
people like me
harassed and tired and
maybe a bit angry
at the slow moving traffic
(which is unceasingly pathetic)

the hill to malaybalay

as we climbed the hill
that would bring us to malaybalay
i caught a glimpse of the sea.
it was a shimmering blue
in the mid-morning sun,
and for a brief moment
i closed my eyes
and felt the warm water lap at my skin
as i float in the gentle rolling waves
that lulled me to sleep.
i felt such bliss!
indeed, it was a wondrous sight!
and when we turned at the bend
i couldn't help but sigh,
as i bade the sea
a last goodbye.
