be nice

it pays to be nice. what you put in is what you get out, right? so if you're nice to someone, then potentially you improve or lift their mood and in turn they can pass it on to another person. question is what are you putting out there? are you putting out anger or bitterness which can amplify the same in others? or are you putting out love and joy? you choose. i'm choosing to be nice and to blast those motherfuckers with love and light until their heads explode. who's with me?

in the midst of the rona...

i've been very vocal about this supposed pandemic to some people but i've also been keeping my thoughts to myself. i am disappointed that not many people in my circle are open to the more - shall we say - radical ideas and opinions or more to the point - not being reported on by the "corporate" media at large. why is it so hard to believe that our governments can lie to we the people? why is it so hard to think that big pharmaceutical companies can lie to consumers about a supposed cure? if this was really about our health then why is no one talking about how we can boost our immunity? why should gyms be closed? why should you wear a mask while working out or walking in the sun? what is the test actually testing for? most people are in fear and they are making decisions out of fear. i just wish they would stop and think and make an informed decision before they submit themselves to the supposed cure.  love and blessings to all. namaste.

the holidays

every year i make it a point to go home for Christmas. i book my ticket ahead of time and i file my leaves as early as october. it's just not Christmas if i don't spend it in ilocos with my family. on Christmas day we gather at my maternal grandparents' house for a sumptuous Christmas lunch. after lunch we open gifts and after that it's time for the neighborhood 'palaro'. we host one every year and every year the children just keep coming. the day after Christmas we troop to Dibua which is just out of the city limits for the Tercia -- a tradition that we keep for as long as i can remember with the farmers who tend our lands (what was left after agrarian reform that is which doesn't amount to much really). every year it's the same menu - tinola, pansit and roasted mudfish - and yet we keep coming back for it. this year we started a new tradition for the Monroy grandchildren and spouses. Dec. 27 we shall gather for an annual gift-giving which includes lu...

book 7!

very early in the morning (quarter to 7) of july 21, my cousin lizet and i drove to greenhills to get our copies of the last harry potter book. i had a book reserved at fully booked and, of course, i lost my receipt. fortunately for me, i had the foresight to photocopy it and so that's what i presented to the cashier. because there was a relatively long line, she didn't give me a hard time. she gave me my copy which i quickly browsed through (i read the chapter titles mainly and the dedication). I tried to read the first chapter while waiting for lizet (to finish chatting with her friend over breakfast), however, i was so sleepy (i only had an hour and half or so of sleep). so instead of a marathon reading fest as i had planned to do -- i slept the saturday away. i finally finished reading the book on sunday night -- i wanted to pace my reading and really take my time and savor the experience of reading the last book but i just couldn't put it down. i had to know how jk row...

the goal...

i'm thinking of going back to basics. i want to consider becoming a farmer. i want to raise chickens, pigs, goats and grow vegetables. too far fetched for me? i don't know i've been reading a lot about simple living oft late and the idea is so inviting. comforting even. think organic farming -- well that's the goal 4 -5 years down the road. ----==oOo==---- i think so too
